Hudson, all this blog stuff new to me, your partner in crime dave gershman at penn league report great stuff ! happen to stumble upon tweets showed you were at game , love to hear your report on what you saw out of jeff opening night !a guy needs to make a living i dont get to see my boys enough i no steves just got to now find that next gear hes capped but command is his strenght hes nockin on the door if the opportunity presents itself we’ll see , im very curious what you saw with jeff he got a award in extended most improved pitcher but the slider and changeup are becoming plus at times is the delivery staying repeatable ? the fire inside thats never been a issue jeffs flashed 100 last year velo was down early this year but coming on strong the rays see starter upside, when he keeps the frontside stable with no leak and staying on top of all pitches, they become crisp with slider and changeup, rays work hard with him on solid frontside loose backside, i hope to get out a little later this summer to see both my boys any input would be great i love your style and keep up the good work, man this bug of baseball gets stronger everyday what fun it is too follow all these amazing challenges in this amazing game im starting to get a better foundation of this game myself with you and dave reaffirming the feel of what i see and hear . thanx and happy blogging dave! the biggest thing with both my boys not because they are my boys is work ethic, heart as you can never measure that, and the over all desire to compete , both are extremely coachable they have a shot trustme trying to make it to the show is no easy task but there on the right path and they understand the work on that path its the journey and damn fun from my seat, anyways keep up the good work these resources you provide is very comforting thanx

      Dave,

Jeff looked pretty good on Opening Day. I’ll have reports on a bunch of kids I saw this week up over at Penn League Report on Sunday. To give you a bit on Jeff, he sat 91-93 with his fastball and showed me a really good, sharp slider that was in the 79-81 range. It’s tough to evaluate a player after only seeing him once, so I’ll see Jeff a few more times before I end up writing a full report on him.

Here it is. Ervin Santana needs a check of reality and needs to be put in the minors for a couple of months to prove he is still worthy of being an Angel. Who agrees and disagrees. I know Santana has potential but he isnt using it. I feel he is just sliding by. We have a great pitching staff but he is not helping at all. No if he stepped it up and listened he would do well.
